Vegan Chocolate Hazelnut Spread

If you know me, you know that Nutella was one of my staple foods before going plant-based. I wasn’t sure how I was going to hold up without it! But this healthier and dairy-free version has been an absolute game changer. The chickpea base makes it filling and protein packed. If you’re a Nutella fan like me, give this a try!


Vegan Chocolate Hazelnut Spread

Time: 5-10 minutes

Serving Size: Approximately 1 Large Jar

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of hazelnuts

  • 1 cup chickpeas

  • 1/2 cup of maple syrup

  • 1/2 cup of cocoa powder

  • 2/3 cup coconut milk

  • 1/4 cup of vegan chocolate chips

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • a pinch of salt

To Make:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor until smooth.

  2. Chill before serving for a thicker consistency. Store in the refrigerator.
